Darnell Miller
From volunteering at his church, leading the choir as a young child, teaching music lessons, manning cameras and performing in front of them for TV, to touring globally with other artists, Darnell Miller has so much under his belt to brag about.
But even with so much to brag about he chooses to live a life of humility, although that may change when he wins his first Grammy Award. Being the extraordinary songwriter and guitarist that he is, Darnell has just released his debut EP "Jesus & Jameson" on his own self-made label, Hidden Palace Entertainment. Miller has been making appearances throughout the East Coast, bringing blues and gospel rock into our midst. Just recently he played a singers and songwriters showcase at the IAMART studios in Wilmington, Delaware. |
With a vision as strong as his, and learning the ins and outs of music at such a a young age, it was only a matter of time before Darnell was touring the world and nominated for a Grammy. The project is a mesmerizing mix of Soul, Blues, Gospel and Rock. Within this episode of Artist Spotlight, Greg exposes multiple songs from the album. Darnell is not new to this industry. He first gained recognition as a member of Gospel artist Tye Tribbett"s legendary band, Soundcheck. He's also done studio session work for many other artists. "Jesus & Jameson" is Darnell's first solo public musical statement to the world. He wrote, arranged, and produced every note of it. The EP features countless artists and musicians from the Delaware Valley area. The keys and organ were even played by Rascal Flatts keyboardist, Michael Hicks. Promotion for the EP will consist of an acoustic tour in various cities including house concerts, radio, print interviews, and a strong social media campaign.
