Sabiha Tasnim. (Delaware) |
|
Sabiha Tasnim has been improving her photography since the first time she's picked up a camera. Inspired by her move to the United States from Bangladesh, she's made it her focus to capture the candid moments of her life as well as the portraits of the beautiful people around her. She's even worked with Zach Wise, a freelance model from Delaware who we've also had the privilege to get to know. Sabiha has decided to maintain photography as a hobby as of right now, which will help allow more room to expand without conforming to a job's requirements. Dive in to Sabiha's work below.
What inspired you to get into photography? When did you start?
Moving from Bangladesh to the United States actually inspired me. On my way here I saw so many breath-taking views and I just wished I could've captured those moments. I started taking pictures in middle school, I would always be the one taking people's pictures. I got my actual first personal camera once I got into high school. If you could venture to any where in the world to do a shoot, where would you go and why? Honestly, there are so many places I would like to shoot one day, I have so many that it's hard to name just one. |
When doing a shoot, do you style the model or give advice on what to wear, how to pose, anything like that?
When I shoot, I don't style the model. I am very open to what they are comfortable with. I do give ideas and during the shot I do pose them and give advice as to what they should do. I just try to have fun with it. Is there a certain type of photography that you specialize in?
I don't specialize in a specific type of photography, but if I were to pick one...I would say I do a lot of portrait or just candid type photos. |

Did you teach yourself this skill? How did you learn? How are you continuing to learn?
I am self taught, I taught myself everything there is to know. I was so interested in it that I took an intro to photography class in high school and that is what pushed me to continue taking pictures.
Did you go to college for photography or arts? If so, how has it impacted you? If not, did college still affect your photography in any way?
I am a rising sophomore in college but I am not majoring in any of the arts. Photography is more like a hobby. College helped me get out of my comfort zone and reach out to people to model for me. It has definitely helped me expand my skills more.

Finally, if you had to recommend a movie to us, what movie do you think we have to see?
If I were to recommend a movie to someone, I wouldn't be able to say one but most likely it would be a romance movie.
