What sparked your interest in modeling?
I've always been kind of artsy as a kid, and got into some very mediocre photography/ self-portrait type stuff in high school. I'm not sure what exactly told me to get into modeling a year and a half ago, but I remember getting this random push to get myself out there in a creative fashion. So I just started looking up local photographers on Instagram and seeing where that would take me. And here I am now!
What is a good piece of advice you would offer to someone who wants to start modeling?
Honestly, I kind of have two important pieces of advice. The first would be to always make sure you are doing your research on whoever you are going to be working with. Ask other models that have worked with them what their experiences were, make sure the photographer and yourself have communicated properly on the type of shoot you're looking for, etc. And the second piece of advice is to not let superficial things hold you back from modeling, like whether or not you're tall enough, "pretty" enough, in shape enough. Just go out and do the thing!

Do you have a favorite theme/style of shoot?
I really really enjoy becoming a different person in front of the camera. Whether that's by dressing up in a costume, being someone completely different than myself, or just by getting to express a different side of myself that I usually don't show. I'm usually a really reserved and shy person, so getting to dress up and act like someone that might be the opposite of that is also a lot of fun.

How has being a model affected your self-esteem?
Modeling has done wonders for the way that I view myself. I have gotten to meet a ton of wonderful and creative photographers over this past year, who have each been able to show me different sides to myself I haven't seen before. I've been able to see myself as a confident person, a creative person, a fun person, and a beautiful person. |
You have had a lot of different hair colors/styles and clothing styles- how would you describe your style?
I spent a year trying to play around with my style, mainly in the form of constantly changing my hair color and length (usually at 3am in my bathroom). And even though my hair is no longer a funky color, I'd still say that I have a wide range of styles and ways to express myself. I enjoy a casual, tomboy look as much as I enjoy being in full glam, and everything in between.
What are your future modeling goals?
I would like to do a lot more creative shoots in the future, such as more themed/costumey shoots, narratives, and body paint. I'd also like to travel more for modeling, especially out of state.
