The Unlikely Candidates of Fort Worth Texas

Though the band hails from Forth Worth, Texas, you would never guess. Straying far away from the state’s signature sound, the group sounds more similar to modern indie artists like Train than to other Texas natives like George Strait.
In their hit song Novacaine, the lyrics will remind you of a slower, more hardcore version of Train's Hey Soul Sister. All in all, The Unlikely Candidates are a great stepson to Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco.

First State Studios Top 3 Songs We Hope To See Performed At Firefly

1. Novacaine
It's like a darker, more hardcore version of Hey Soul Sister, or at least the one lyric makes us think it is.

2. Oh My Dear Lord
Sounds like Fall Out Boy or Panic at the Disco right?

3. Bells
Lay me down in Dover, Delaware...

"Outside of the working world, music is something I invest a lot of time in, in more ways than one. I could spend hours on my SoundCloud timeline, Apple Music, or YouTube discovering new artists to listen to and enjoy. I have channeled this love into brief music reviews that can be found in the appropriate part of this website, and more recently, the First State Studios website.  I have also begun to produce music myself, learning the ins and outs of Ableton, Serum, Audacity, and other necessary software, and it still remains one of my favorite ways to spend my free time. It has sparked a love for learning new technologies and software and is something I hope to continue to grow with. I feel that my lifelong interest in the technical side of creative arts combined with my newfound analytical knowledge combine perfectly to serve me well in the marketing and advertising realm."
