Superorganism - Superorganism

â–¡â–¡â–¡THANK YOU @bbc6music FOR MAKING OUR RECORD ONE OF YOUR BEST ALBUMS OF 2018 SO FARâ–¡â–¡â–¡

A post shared by SUPERORGANISM (@sprorgnsm) on Jul 16, 2018 at 5:00am PDT

Today I chose to listen to Superorganism's self-titled debut album, Superorganism, released under Domino Recordings. This was an album I was incredibly excited for, as the two songs the group had released previously were fantastic. All things considered, this is hands down one of the most unique and diverse albums I have ever listened to. Its hard to even put it in a genre, as its sounds and styles are so incredibly different from anything I have ever heard before, which I loved. The groups use of samples from speeches, movies, and even videogames is unparalleled and adds an entirely new texture to the album that most other artists cannot achieve. The sound design and variety of instruments/sounds used keeps every song fresh and exciting, no two songs sound the same. My only problem with this album would be the repetitiveness of some lyrical elements. In songs like "Nobody Cares", and "Everybody Wants To Be Famous", there are several parts of the song where lyrics are repeated over and over again. While I don't mind it too much, it does sort of get annoying after a certain point, but doesn't take away from the song too much. Overall, I absolutely loved this album, and it is easily one of my favorites released recently.

Outside of the working world, music is something I invest a lot of time in, in more ways than one. I could spend hours on my SoundCloud timeline, Apple Music, or YouTube discovering new artists to listen to and enjoy. I have channeled this love into brief music reviews that can be found in the appropriate part of this website.  I have also begun to produce music myself, learning the ins and outs of Ableton, Serum, Audacity, and other software, and it still remains one of my favorite ways to spend my free time. It has sparked a love for learning new technologies and software and that is something I hope to continue to grow with. I feel that my lifelong interest in the technical side of creative arts combined with my newfound love for analytics combine perfectly and serve me well in the marketing and advertising realm.
