âBorn and raised in New Jersey until she studied recording at Middle Tennessee State University, Sharon van Etten is an American singer songwriter who loves harmonies. After a year of college she dropped out and ended up working at the Red Rose, a coffee and record shop and music venue for about five years. Ah, every hipster's dream occupation. But in 2004, she moved back to NJ, stayed for a year and moved to the Big Apple, aka New York City in 2005. Her music is described as having "echoes of folk tradition." Using poetry, harmonies, and just enough rasp and sorrow, her songs become a true work of art. She's been in the Netflix series, The OA.She has also appeared in Twin Peaks. And now she's a mother with a son. Talk about the coolest mom in the world. Sharon van Etten is graceful in the way she lives her life as she's said "I've always been a fan of the slow build. Whether it be with my career, or my songs, or life." This not only reflects in her music, but it's a great quote to live by, so thank you Sharon. Or should I say thanks Mom.

So he began digging deeper into the lives of local artists, and thus, First State Studios was born. Sobieski has a diverse musical palette and loves nothing more in life than seeing people who are passionate and courageous with what they do.
