âHonestly this is one of the most rightfully done psychedelic rock groups of our day. Maybird keeps it interesting for their listeners with each song, changing vibes, moods, and emotions. And that's what their music really is about - the feeling. In To You featured in this April edition of the Dot, we hear a sort of high filtered voice accompanied by a smooth melodic bell and acoustic guitar, giving off that sunshine bubble gum vibe.
I HIGHly recommend this band, if ya catch my drift mon.
Maybird is originally from Rochester, New York. It began with Josh Netsky, an extremely talented singer/songwriter who, at the time, already had 4 independent albums. Josh's brother, Adam Netsky joined him on the drums to create the Josh Netsky Band. At one of their gigs, their other guitarist Sam Snyder was unable to make it so they temporarily replaced him with Kurt Johnson. Josh and Kurt immediately realized they had musical chemistry together and eventually led to development of the Josh Netsky Band's sound. Soon later, they moved to Brooklyn and the band renamed themselves as Maybird. in 2013 the Netsky borthers, Kurt Johnson, Sam Snyder, and James Preston (bass guitarist) released their debut album, Down and Under.
