7/26/2019 0 Comments Cannons - When Paths CrossSparked by childhood friendship, the Los Angeles indie group first formed when two of the members, Paul Davis and Ryan Clapham met Michelle Joy. Paul and Ryan grew up in LA on the same street, and tried several times to start a band but couldn't find the right sound until they crossed paths with Michelle. Put 70's grooves and 80's electro-funk into a blender and out comes a smooth flavor known as Cannons. The three friends are currently hard at work to perfect their brand of electro-pop. Cannons is set to release their new EP, In a Heartbeat this summer. The new album is leaning into their deep house inclinations, and doubling down on their ability to write straight up *hooks* as it mentions on their website. The EP is full of pulsing baselines, reverb soaked guitars, and Michelle's hypnotic vocal. On standout's like "Backwards" and "Holding On", they perfectly capture that feeling of sunset joyriding. On In a Heartbeat Cannons have accomplished their mission - to keep us dancing all night long.
