6/20/2019 0 Comments SYMLSYML, also known as Brian Fennell, who was previously part of the indie band Barcelona, comes from Issaquah, Washington. After living in several places in and around Seattle, he's returned to his hometown and lives there currently where he writes and produces out of his bedroom. SYML got into music at a young age, playing piano, and writing his first song when he was 18 years old. He found music to be a coping mechanism after the death of a schoolmate. Growing up, he graduated from college with a music degree. Having been adopted as a child, and later in life finding out his biological parents were Welsh, he pulls the name SYML which means "simple" in his native tongue. His understanding of his childhood and adoption is displayed through his songwriting.
After his song "Where's My Love" was used on the popular drama TV show Teen Wolf, the song charted for 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart. In 2018, the song even received Gold certification in Canada and Belgium, and held the #1 spot on Canada's CBC Top 20 charts twice. "Where's My Love" was also featured prominently in the official trailer for the 2018 motion picture Adrift. Be sure to check out SYML's website, as he is always updating it with diary entries about the tour and life in general.

With a background in music and songwriting under the pseudonym Pierce Frolic, Kyle personally knows the amount of work and determination that goes into becoming an artist of any medium. Towards the end of high school, Kyle realized the lack of support in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware for the arts and underground talents. So he began digging deeper into the lives of local artists, and thus, First State Studios was born. Sobieski has a diverse musical palette and loves nothing more in life than seeing people who are passionate and courageous with what they do.
