Hugel is One of France's Hottest DJ's

In the first few seconds of Guajira Guantanamera, Hugel lets the voice of Joseito Fern(a)ndez lead without interruption. After a few seconds, the kick comes in, and the 1929 hit of the same name transforms into a throbbing EDM track.
Sure to augment a setlist of familiar pop hits with something unexpected, Hugel may give one of the most lively sets on the Firefly stage. An exciting DJ and producer based out of Marseille, France, he’s one to watch out for. His high energy remixes draw from a wide variety of music genres while including enough throwbacks to scream along to.

First State Studios Top 3 Songs We Hope To See Performed At Firefly

1. WTF feat. Amber Van Day
Chances are, Hugel will play this, considering it's his top track. This will be exceptionally fun, especially during the chorus...

2. House Music
House Music is one of them tracks that they have some deep voice talking over it until the drop, and it simply brings Hugel's music back to its roots. "Maybe we are weird."

3. Coming Home feat. Jimmy Hennessy
Close your eyes and you instantly visualize the whole vibe and layout of Firefly Music Festival. Beautiful weather, smiles, dancing, oh it's all there when you hear this one.

Watch Hugel Performing Live at Tomorrowland Music Festival

Nothing seems off limits when Hugel is working his transformative magic to create dance-worthy mixes. In 2018, he released a remix of El Profesor’s “Bella Ciao”, an Italian folk song elevated into one of that summer’s party anthems.

However, It’s really at live performances that Hugel hits his stride, where his energized sets are full of house remixes and sick drops. In the past few years, he’s become a regular in Ibiza and the European festival circuit. He appeared on tour with David Guetta in 2018 and has headlined at Tomorrowland festival and Lollapalooza Berlin.

Sarra Sundstrom is a soon-to-be graduate from the University of Delaware. Pursuing a career in communications, she is interested in working with music and art and finding ways to combine that with a passion for the environment. When she gets some time away from her laptop, she’s probably spending time getting lost in the woods somewhere at a festival or on a nature trail.  When it comes to music, she listens to just about anything but finds herself coming back to old school hip-hop, reggae, and techno. She’s always down for a live show and is a great plus one.
