Badflower: This Generation's Voice in Rock n Roll

Badflower are a four piece rock band hailing from Los Angeles California. They released an EP titled, Temper in 2016 and a full length album in February, 2019. Their debut record, OK, I’m Sick, was one of the best front to back rock albums of the year due to subject matter and how sonically tight they are instrumentally.

​Badflower have created a sound that pays respects to the technical aspects of the genre while still creating something fresh for this current generation. The themes lyrically on this album are considered by the band as “confrontational”. 

They are dark, thought provoking, and say exactly what they mean. Josh Katz has said in interviews that instrumentally everything has been done in the genre of rock music but, there are still so many things left to say. That is why the band focuses on storytelling through songs and write the instrumentals after the lyrics are finished. Subjects on the album vary from growing old with someone you love, animal cruelty, fighting for the attention of others, and an honest interpretation of a mind considering suicide.

​Badflower is set to tour this summer with Incubus and 311. They have also already toured with acts such as Greta Van Fleet, The Struts, and Shinedown. On Shiprocked, in February, 2020 the band announced that they would not be playing any more shows until their next album was complete. That means expect new music in time for Firefly!
