Palace's Humility Brought Them Success

Click here to listen to the July edition of The Dot podcast Palace was featured on...
Artist of the Month of July 2019 goes to London band by the name of Palace, who just dropped their new album. In an interview with DIY Mag, they stated, "We thought we might be the shittiest band in the world." But what if this sort of mindset is the exact reason they've come so far in their music careers...

It was a slow crawl to stardom, but the band's hype began with whispers about their first gig. Then the whispers became links sent in group chats, shares on social media, the whole nine yards.

The band even went on to say, "there's no true desire to be heard here, right now. People just stumble upon our music."

And that's exactly how we found them. Stumbling.
Recording sounds like the life for Palace. The band comes and goes as they please, and they admit that the studio costs virtually nothing for them.

They can show up on schedule, a few hours late, or last minute to record a song that popped into their heads. The band is truly blessed to have such a space in their midst. Without it, recording would be ten times more difficult.
Keeping their cool, staying relaxed all through out their trails of performing as a band, the group has managed to make a name for themselves within the UK. So â€‹First State Studios expects a higher demand in the future for the London band's music over here in the United States. A word of advice for aspiring musicians: be humble, understand your level of "shittiness" and stay relaxed. You just might become the Artist of the Month on The Dot.

So he began digging deeper into the lives of local artists, and thus, First State Studios was born. Sobieski has a diverse musical palette and loves nothing more in life than seeing people who are passionate and courageous with what they do. "It's these people who make the world a more colorful, intimate place for everybody."
