Boy Harsher are a dark electronic duo from Northampton, Massachusetts. The sound is eerie, intense, and incredibly easy to dance to. They are currently a staple for after parties in London and Paris with their track Pain. The duo actually jokes about being able to hear the song playing while they stand outside of clubs they canât get in. They also said that the track came from a place when the two hated each other, lived together, and would still always sleep together. Certainly an interesting perspective when both parties are involved in the trackâs creation. Muller and Matthews both have backgrounds in film that certainly translates into their music videos and also live performances. Their first project together was called, Teen Dreamz, which was a series of VHS pieces with scores behind them. If Boy Harsherâs music was a movie, they said it would be David Lynchâs Lost Highway. Itâs dark, creepy, confusing, but also an erotic masterpiece. Their latest album, Careful, was released earlier this month and they will also be touring the US starting in March. â

Their first EP was recorded mostly at their home in Savannah and relied on a small collection of cheap synthesizers. With the help of the veteran engineer Peter Mavrogeorgis at Dollhouse Studios, they EP Lesser Man was able to be released in April of 2014. Their debut album, titled Yr Body is Nothing was released years later in June of 2016 through Atlanta's DKA Records. This album was described as a âdarkly beautiful and very emotional new recordâ by Gorilla Vs. Bear and as âhighly danceable fantasy narratives of desire and nuanced discomfortâ by Decoder Magazine. Since then, they have released an album titled Careful in 2019 which consists of 10 dark, electronic tracks that you cannot miss out on.
