How long have you been tattooing? What sparked your interest?
I’ve been tattooing officially for two years and before that I apprenticed for a year and a half. The initial spark came when I was 12 years old and I attended my first Philadelphia tattoo convention with my mother.

What are some of your hobbies and have they influenced your work at all?
I’ve always been a creative person and I’ve always been sort of a loner. I spent much of my childhood learning different skills. I’ve always drawn and been interested in any type of art project. I also played music from the age of 8 years old. Any art form was always a source of comfort for me whether it be painting, singing, playing bass, knitting, crocheting, I’m always learning something crafty!

How would you describe your artwork as far as tattooing goes? Do you have a certain aesthetic that you aim for? So I’ve fallen very much into the pop culture tattoos. I would say that I have my own style in a way. I am mainly a color artist and I take a lot of the neotraditional techniques and splash a little pop art and realism into it. I think the most important thing to note is that often times my clients and I like to keep a sense of humor about things. So you’ll see a lot of tattoos you never thought you’d see. For example I just did a tattoo of the Grinch with a woman’s body. You never know! |
What is the most rewarding part about being a tattoo artist? What about the most challenging? I would say the most rewarding thing is not only having the client love their new tattoo but having the validation that everyone around them likes it. The validation comes when many of their friends start messaging me about tattoos and getting in on my schedule. I’d say the challenging part is getting people to understand that I’m an artist who knows what’s best for then as far as design. So when there’s a lot of pushback in the consultation it can be quite challenging to come to a conclusion both parties are satisfied with. |
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In 5 years I really hope to be gaining more traction in different states and I hope to be a little more recognized for what I do because I do work very hard to bring something new and original to the table! I’m never really looking ahead 5 years I’m always looking at next year or the next few months. I’m very much a “get things going” kind of girl!
